Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
The biggest stock-riser in the upper portion of the rankings, Knight has established himself as one of the area’s premier young frontcourt prospects during his first season of varsity experience. He’s thrived as a high-motor two-way interior presence in a condensed role off the bench, with the type of frame and coordination that point to high-major potential if things continue to progress from here. What makes things so interesting with Knight is his rate of improvement having just picked up the game seriously within the past couple years. He’ll have a chance to make some serious noise as soon as this spring and summer on the 16U Adidas circuit.

Knight makes one of the most noteworthy jumps in this update to the rankings thanks to a promising start to his sophomore season. After biding his time on JV last year while tacking on another inch or two in the process, the bruising interior presence has now been unleashed on the varsity level. While still relatively new to the game, he has a great foundation near the rim on both ends, imposing his will in a condensed role off the bench with strong hands and quick feet. He profiles at this point as the top true center prospect in the state within his class.

Knight was the story of the game for Cristo Rey up front, coming off the bench in the first quarter and immediately changing the tenor of the game with his motor, physicality, and developing skillset. The quickly-emerging young big man would finish with 9 points, showcasing strong hands with improving touch and fluidity as a finisher in traffic. Knight mostly sticks to his bread and butter as a two-way enforcer on the interior, but showed intriguing flashes on the perimeter on both ends with his ability to operate in dribble handoffs and keep guards in front of him on switches. Still relatively new to the game, Knight is improving quickly with a clear D1 future as he continues to stack days.
