Tomlinson has great positional size and a strong frame that he used to guard 2-5 throughout the weekend as a physical and aggressive defender that doesn’t cede any ground whether he is defending on the block or denying a catch on the perimeter. On Tomlinson’s first possession of the game he caught the ball on the wing and slashed to the rim to attempt a 2-handed poster dunk on a 6’10 forward, almost completing the highlight play before he was fouled. He sees the floor well as an unselfish passer that finds the open man, moves off the ball well to be a finisher or passer in the paint, and is dynamic in transition both on the ball or running the wing. His assertive and aggressive brand of basketball should make him an immediate impact guy at both the local and national level beginning this fall.

-Man oh man did Tomlinson make his presence known for Team Durant , as the incoming freshman played up for a really talented 15u group. Tomlinson’s impact at the defensive end of the floor really stood out throughout the game as he blocked 5 shots, hounding the basketball both on or off the ball as an explosive leaper that took pride in erasing shots both on the perimeter or around the hoop. Tomlinson can take his matchup off the bounce from the wings, scored on putbacks around the rim, and can knock down open perimeter jumpers without settling as a cerebral offensive weapon.
