Tomlinson is the most prepared to make a consistent impact of anyone on this list. In fact, if we had dropped actual rankings (likely to follow in the next update of this class), Tomlinson would’ve had one of the stronger arguments to be the top overall prospect. While the majority of 2030’s will take time to learn how to impact for their respective programs, Tomlinson enters the rotation for a young, but extremely talented Gonzaga roster and brings size, strength, skill and athleticism. He’s versatile enough defensively to toggle multiple positions and will offer head coach Keith Urgo the flexibility on both ends given his well-rounded ability. The most impressive aspect of Tomlinson’s game to me personally is how willing of an off-ball presence he is. Most freshman approach their touches with a homerun or strikeout mentality whereas Tomlinson is a high-level cutter and never leaves the offensive end without applying pressure as a rebounder for second chance opportunities.

-Tomlinson will debut within our top 10 when we rank the freshmen class for the first time in the fall and should make an immediate impact at Gonzaga for a very deep varsity group. Tomlinson has great positional size and a strong frame that he used to guard 2-5 throughout the weekend as a physical and aggressive defender that doesn’t cede any ground whether he is defending on the block or denying a catch on the perimeter. On Tomlinson’s first possession of the game he caught the ball on the wing and slashed to the rim to attempt a 2-handed poster dunk on a 6’10 forward, almost completing the highlight play before he was fouled. He sees the floor well as an unselfish passer that finds the open man, moves off the ball well to be a finisher or passer in the paint, and is dynamic in transition both on the ball or running the wing. His assertive and aggressive brand of basketball should make him an immediate impact guy at both the local and national level beginning this fall.

-Man oh man did Tomlinson make his presence known for Team Durant , as the incoming freshman played up for a really talented 15u group. Tomlinson’s impact at the defensive end of the floor really stood out throughout the game as he blocked 5 shots, hounding the basketball both on or off the ball as an explosive leaper that took pride in erasing shots both on the perimeter or around the hoop. Tomlinson can take his matchup off the bounce from the wings, scored on putbacks around the rim, and can knock down open perimeter jumpers without settling as a cerebral offensive weapon.
