The Maine native came off the board with a commitment to Coker University. Catchings will head to South Carolina in the fall after standout careers at both Gardiner Area High School and Bridgton Academy. A versatile 6’9″ forward, he’s really expanded his game in the last year, especially on the defensive end of the court where he’s proven to be a switchable defender and rim protector. Offensively, he continues to be a threat from behind the arc and, as he’s add strength, as a slasher and above rim finisher.

Catchings had a terrific spring and summer on the AAU circuit with the New England Storm and looks like he’ll be able to continue that production at Bridgton this winter. The 6’8” forward has added noticeable strength and seems more comfortable attacking the basket and playing through contact. His inside-out skill set is tailor made for the modern game and he should be a guy that is capable of defending both wings and forwards at the next level due to his athleticism and length.
