The Maine native came off the board with a commitment to Coker University. Catchings will head to South Carolina in the fall after standout careers at both Gardiner Area High School and Bridgton Academy. A versatile 6’9″ forward, he’s really expanded his game in the last year, especially on the defensive end of the court where he’s proven to be a switchable defender and rim protector. Offensively, he continues to be a threat from behind the arc and, as he’s add strength, as a slasher and above rim finisher.
Kulenovic brought his recruitment to a close with a commitment to Hamilton College. An impact forward at the Berkshire School, Kulenovic is a solid pick up for the Continentals and should be able to make a name for himself in the NESCAC as a floor spacing big. Offensively, he’s shown that he can play as both a screen-and-roll and screen-and-pop big. He has a clean stroke from behind the arc and has also shown the ability to handle the ball in transition. Defensively, he should be able to hold his own in the paint where he can rebound above the rim and plays solid post defense.
Odibo, a California native and product of Deerfield Academy, recent made it official as he announced his commitment to the University of Rochester. A perennial power in the UAA, Rochester is getting an impressive athlete who’s taken great strides on both sides of the ball in his post-grad year. A big wing at 6’5″, Odibo can finish above the rim, excels in transition, and is a consitent threat from behind the arc with his jumper. Maybe most importantly, he’s shown a high IQ as a secondary ball-handler and decision maker. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and should be a high level rebounder for his position.
Stanwood, a product of Marianapolis Prep and the Mass Commanders, announced recently that he will spend the next four years at Nichols College. A combo-guard, Stanwood is a crafty scorer who can get to his spot off the bounce and scores both on the move and off the catch. This summer, he showed that he can be a primary ball-handler, showcasing great floor vision and solid passing insticts. Defensively, he’s competitive and tough, making it difficult for opposing ball-handlers to get past him on the perimeter.
Jared Stubblebine
Jared Stubblebine
Stubblebine is one of the most recent products to come off the board with his commitment to Wheaton College (IL). The reigning NEPSAC Class C Player of the Year, Stubblebine currently leads a highly competitive Lexington Christian Academy program. More of a combo guard than a true point guard, he does a great job getting to his spots off the bounce, where he can be a facilitator or scorer. He plays with an edge defensively, rebounds well for his position, and hits the floor for loose balls. A physical guard with a rugged build, Stubblebine is both a leader and vocal presence on the floor. He’s tough, competitive, and a winner; character traits that, when combined with his skillset, should help him establish a roll at Wheaton next year.
