Due to the large amount of talent in New England, some of these players are slept on, but are poised to soon wake everyone up. Check out these players from Massachusetts that are on the come up!
Yakoobian is coming off huge 1st weekend at ZGXL, averaging 19 points a game. During week 2 in AC, Yakoobian was a standout there as well, including a 14 point performance to lead his team to victory. Yakoobian is a lethal shooter from downtown with a smooth repeatable form. He can also attack the basket and finish in traffic. On defense, Yakoobian’s length and athleticism allows him to block shots consistently. One of his most notable performances during the high school season was a 20 point and 10 rebound game against Thayer Academy.

Cooper Galdenzi
Galdenzi has gotten off to a hot start with his skillset on full display for Mass Elite. On offense, Galdenzi has has the ability to create his own shot and play with physicality. He is also a tough defender, while having a high motor and high-level work ethic. On defense, Galdenzi also the ability to lock up different positions on the perimeter, while his athletic ability allows him to get up and block shots. At BFH XL event, Galdenzi had an impressive 18 point performance.
Catchings has great size at the wing. He has the ability to shoot the three ball at a high percentage, while also being able to play above the rim. Catchings also moves extremely well without the ball and has a knack for getting open. He also get the job done in the classroom, with a 3.9 GPA making him a high academic prospect. Catchings had a huge season for Bridgton and stood out at events such as the HoopHall prep showcase.
Omar Rodriguez
Omar Rodriguez
Rodriguez is an athletic combo guard with the ability score of the ball in a variety of ways, which showed when he had a 20 point outing at the BFH XL event. Rodriguez also has deep range from beyond the arc, to go along with the ability to make plays to teammates. Another aspect of Rodriguez’s game that stands out is his ability to make clutch shots. During the high school season, Rodriguez had a 27 point performance against Leominster.
Cuevas is a high IQ guard that always seems to make the right play. He can score at all three levels including a lethal jumpshot for mid range and three, especially off the dribble. Cuevas is also a smooth finisher around the rim and works the pick and roll at a high level. During the high school season Cuevas average 21 points , 5 rebounds, 4 assitst and 2 steals per game. Cuevas is a player college programs will have a close eye on as we get deeper into the spring.
