Cuevas made his college plans official when he pledged to attend Bowdoin College. A big time scorer at Pingree, Cuevas was one of last summer’s top stock risers on the travel circuit. He’s a bigger guard that knows how to get to his spots off the bounce, has the strength to finish through contact, and continuously plays at his own pace. He has a great feel for the game, is a crafty paint finisher, and does a great job of elevating in the mid-range. He’s the type of prospect that can score in bunches when he gets going. Defensively, he shows the strength and toughness to guard in the post when switched onto bigs and has the lateral mobility to keep perimeter ball-handlers in front of him. He has the chance to make an immediate impact at Bowdoin and could develop into one of the NESCAC’s top scorers.

Cuevas, who appears at #90 in these rankings, is one of the better scoring guards in the region. A well-built guard with a knack for getting into the paint off the bounce, Cuevas is wired to score and can get it done from all three levels. He’s confident with the ball in his hands and capable of being a secondary ball-handler for an offense. He’s a good team defender, knows where he needs to be on that end, and is strong enough to defend in the post when isolated on bigger offensive players.

The Pingree/Team Sims product was arguably the most advanced prospect in attendance from an offensive standpoint. He’s got a strong frame that allows him to absorb contact and finish at the rim and an array of finishing moves that allow him to finish over taller defenders. His strength should allow him to guard up at the college level. He’s a prospect that many D3’s would love to have, and I’d expect, is on the radars of scholarship level schools as well.

Sharpshooting guard can light it up with the best of them. He boasts a quick release with great ball rotation and good arc, and can effectively get his shot off both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot scenarios. Cuevas held shooting averages of 41 percent from deep and 51 percent overall last season with Pingree. His shooting is his best asset, but his IQ and feel for the game is a close second. He has good handles, makes other players around him better and is unselfish offensively.

Ray had a strong day today at the tournament. His highlight play was a monstrous breakaway dunk. On the play he showed his high level athleticism and ability to play above the rim. He also stepped outside and knocked down a few three pointers. He is a player with good length to match his skill set.
