Landoure, a forward out of Bridgton Academy in Maine, put an end to his recruitment with a commitment to the University of Virginia. The 6’10” big man is still a bit of an unknown in New England as he comes from the Basketball Africa League, but has enormous potential and is a massive presence in the paint. He’s got broad shoulders and a big frame, but also plays with some impressive vertical athleticism. He scores it in a variety of ways around the basket and is a serious threat out of ball screen actions. Defensively, he moves well laterally for a prospect of his size and has the ability to control the glass with his effort, motor, and strength. He’s an exciting piece for Virginia and should carve out a nice role in the ACC as a prospect that still has considerable upside.

Landoure is the next big man in the line of impressive Bridgton Academy bigs, most recently Sylla. The 6-foot-10 NBA Africa Academy product has an elite blend of touch, footwork, and feel for his size. Though I haven’t seen him play a full game, some of the offensive skill he showcased this past year should translate quite well to the NEPSAC when combined with his size. Landoure is already committed to Virginia but will be a key part of Bridgton’s retooled roster that’ll look a lot different than they did last year but has major prospects and should compete in AAA.
