Davis, one of the top performers for a strong Bridgton Academy team this winter, will spend the next four years in Connecticut after announcing his commitment to Trinity College. A big man with inside-out skills, Davis combines a high basketball IQ with a serious motor. He can play in screening actions, as both a hard roller and pick-and-pop guy, and is comfortable as a decision maker with the ball in his hands at the top of the key. He battles inside, showing an ability to both finish in traffic and rebound outside of his area. Defensively, particularly at the Division III level, he should be able to guard all five positions as he has the length and lateral mobility to stay in front of guards when switched on the perimeter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s an instant impact first year at Trinity; he has NEPSAC rookie of the year and, down the line, all league, potential.

Davis was one of the highlights of the weekend. He’s a high motor, mobile rebounder with the ability to float around the basket and grab anything in the air. Defensively, he excels as a shot blocker despite not seeming like an athletic big. He has great defensive and rebounding anticipation which makes him very effective against more athletic bigs. Davis can extend his range to spread the floor, but is more effective on the low block because of his size. He is unfortunately in need of serious conditioning, as he can easily get caught lacking on the defensive end by faster guards and can get outrun down the floor by almost anyone on the floor. Nevertheless, Davis is an exciting, high-energy post who does the gritty stuff in the low post effectively. Davis would be a great fit for a higher D2 or low D1 who needs a strong interior presence.
