Since our last update, which was published just four days ago, we’ve seen a handful of recruits come off the board in New England.
Here are four that caught our attention:
Randall, who checked in at #23 in our latest rankings update for the class of 2024, recently announced his commitment to Quinnipiac University. A big wing/combo forward type of prospect, Randall has a next level skill set. He’s an elite shooter, particularly in catch-and-shoot situations. He also has done a great job of leveraging his shooting this season; meaning he’s used the threat of his ability to shoot it from deep to open up his driving game. He has great positional size, is an above the rim athlete, and consistently plays hard on both ends of the floor. He should be one of the top incoming recruits in the MAAC next year and has a chance to compete for major minutes at Quinnipiac from Day 1.
Highlights
Perri, a Class B All-NEPSAC selection, has committed to continue his academic and athletic careers at Wheaton College. A high IQ scoring guard, Perri has an impressive offensive game. He’s a capable shooter from the perimeter and does a good job of picking his spots to get into his pull-up game. He has great length that allows him to finish over defenders at the rim on drives. What stands out the most might be his willingness to play in structure; he makes quick decisions with the ball, doesn’t try to do too much, and deliever qualities passes to his teammates in scoring positions. With good size and the afformentioned length, he has some tools that should allow him to be a versatile defender at the next level. He profiles as a prospect that, with some added strength, should have a productive four year career in the NEWMAC.
Davis, one of the top performers for a strong Bridgton Academy team this winter, will spend the next four years in Connecticut after announcing his commitment to Trinity College. A big man with inside-out skills, Davis combines a high basketball IQ with a serious motor. He can play in screening actions, as both a hard roller and pick-and-pop guy, and is comfortable as a decision maker with the ball in his hands at the top of the key. He battles inside, showing an ability to both finish in traffic and rebound outside of his area. Defensively, particularly at the Division III level, he should be able to guard all five positions as he has the length and lateral mobility to stay in front of guards when switched on the perimeter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s an instant impact first year at Trinity; he has NEPSAC rookie of the year and, down the line, all league, potential.
Highlights
Pasha, one of New England’s top ranked shooting guards, pledged his commitment to the University of Delaware. A big guard that really capitalized on the opportunity to play a post-grad season, Pasha is one of the regions most under-rated scorers. He gets it done at all three levels, shows signs of playmaking ability with the ball in his hands, and is an impressive vertical athlete that can finish way above the rim. He should be able to play either guard spot at the next level, but most likely will make an impact as a scorer first due to his ability to get tough buckets in late clock situations. He has versatile tools on the other end where he has good instincts in passing lanes and quick hands as an on-ball defender. This is a really good pick up for Delaware and I’d expect that Pasha will eventually grow into an all-CAA type performer.
