of Holly Springs. He’s proven to be a reliable shooter with
SW15H Elite
16u UA Rise over the course of the first portion of the travel ball season. Through the month of June, Portland was able to take his volume from distance to another level, including a big performance last weekend at the Phenom Hoops Team camp where he exploded for a 26 point half. Portland’s size, quick release, and deep range allow him to command a ton of attention from the opposing defense, allowing there to be a ton of space for his teammates to operate on the offensive end of the floor. Portland continues to emerge as one the premier jump shooters in the 2028 class and this June was surely a sign of things to come.

Portland’s shooting was impossible to ignore. He moves well without the ball, relocates into open space, and punishes defenses when they are late to close out. What makes him interesting is that he does not need a complicated role to change the floor for his team.

Portland id a super strong job for this SW15H Elite UA Rise 16u team as a shot ready guy on the perimeter who was efficient and capable of contributing to the game in other areas. For his team that went 3-1 on the weekend, Portland avereaged 8.8 Points and 1.0 Rebound per game while shooting 54% from the floor and 9/18 (50%) from deep in four games. To shoot with that efficiency on 4.5 attempts from distance per game is impressive especially with how many other talented players there are on this roster. Portland is lining himself up for a big season at Holly Springs next year as he continues to establish himself as a next level prospect.
