Josh missed a few games but when it came time to show off his game when completely healthy he did in the playoffs as Stepinac won all the city titles there were. A lanky long guard with really good size. Uses his size to shoot or look over players. He a volume shooter. He can score the ball in a variety of ways. Excellent shooter from the perimeter . Real nice mid range game where he can get to his spot and rise up over his defender. Really good defender.

He served as an effective secondary ball handler and made a strong read to find the right corner shooter for an open three. He added a right corner spot‑up three of his own and knocked down a catch and shoot three from the top of the key. He shot the ball with a pure, confident release, and the reigning CHSAA Player of the Week finished a perfect 4‑for‑4 from beyond the arc.

Rivera is a guard with nice size who brings a smooth, confident game to the floor. He can absolutely heat up from three, knocking down shots off the catch and with space off the dribble. His upside is high because he already has the tools, and his game looks like it’ll keep expanding as he gets stronger and more consistent. Rivera plays with good pace and doesn’t force the action, letting scoring chances come naturally within the flow. He also crashes the glass well for a guard, using his size and instincts to come up with extra possessions. Defensively, he competes, stays engaged, and uses his length to bother ball-handlers and contest shots. Overall, he’s a two-way guard who can space the floor, impact winning in multiple areas, and keep trending upward.
