Nunez impressed in transition and picked up an ample amount of buckets while running the floor. He has a knack for scoring and when he is in a groove good luck stopping him. I want to see him play off two more on the attack and use jump stops. Nunez was assertive on the glass and found ways to rebounds. He showed some flashes making others better as a passer but is more of a two guard than one. Time and time again he found ways to be in lanes to come up with steals. He is a prospect who would be a great fit at the low to mid level.

-Liked the flashes from Nuñez as a prospect that is finding his way nicely as one of the leaders of a St James group that finally has all of their pieces healthy this season. Nuñez is comfortable on the ball–especially in transition– but also can be effective off the ball as an unselfish prospect that skips the ball opposite while also using his size and athleticism to sneak in for some offensive rebounds. He’s particularly comfortable tightroping the baseline to slice to finish at the rim or drop off to one of his bigs. Nuñez recorded a block both on and off the ball and should give this StJ some lineup versatility as a dynamic guard that can play 1-3 at the offensive end and guard multiple spots on the defensive end of the floor.

Nunez showed that he could find teammates for scoring chances with his play-making ability. He got downhill often and touched the paint frequently. Nunez does a really good job of turning the corner in the half-court. On defense he came up with steals and rebounds. Nunez processes the game at a high level.

One of the more talented scorers in Ohio’s 2027 class, Nunez came to Ohio from New York and has shown the ability to score the basketball at a high level. With a quick first step and the ability to beat defenders off the dribble, Nunez is a tough cover as a wing guard creator. I’ve only caught one game of Nunez in person and he flashed an impressive offensive skillset and athletic ability. With interest from a handful of Big 10 programs and other high major conferences, he’ll be a name to watch in the class of 2027.

In a blowout win over Taylor Made Prep (AZ), Nuñez impressed with his abundance of natural talent on the offensive end. The New York native makes things look effortless as he glides around the court with the ball while displaying touch and craft as both a scorer and playmaker. The game didn’t provide a need for him to show his game from deep, something we’ll be monitoring moving forward into other settings along with his commitment on the defensive end. But there’s no doubt the reclass to 2027 could pay dividends for Nuñez as he climbs higher up D1 radars heading into the summer.

Nunez has a knack for getting to different spots on the attack. He made a living at the foul line. He found ways to stay relevant in the game and was finding ways to stay involved. Nunez collected a few rebounds. Nunez finished with 16 points with 10 coming in the 2nd half.

24. Can really it shoot it. Can score the ball in a variety of ways. Could be another guard in a long line of quality guards that have come through the Terrier program.
