About Josh

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an explosive point gaurd that can get downhill at any given moment, and can score at all three levels. My ability to get downhill opens up opportunities for my teamates to score. I have a good feel for the game and my playmaking is an underated aspect of my game. I would say that my defense and intensity is one of my best features and I take pride in it.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very loving and compassionate person outside of the basketball court. I like to see people succeed and do anything I can to bring the best out of the people around me. On the court I have a very different mindset. Everyone is competing for a spot at the next level, so it is my job to work and show that I can get that top spot.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved at my church Zion Hope Baptist Church, where I help volunteer with different ministires.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many qualities such as communication, leadership, determination, and even comprehension of others. These traits have made me who I am today and allow me to grow on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In May of my sophmore summer I tore my hip labrum, which eventually sidelined me until January of my junior year. I missed a big chunk of the season and I endured 6 months of constant physical therapy. During the process of coming back I had a stress fracture in my foot which sidelined me a couple more weeks. I am grateful that I overcame these obstacles, and I am ready to take my next step.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is willing to give me an opportunity and one that feels like home while still pushing the best out of their athletes. I am looking for a school that provides a great finance program because that is what I would like to major in college.

Crafty, defensive minded guard that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a pest defensively as he pressures full court and constantly uses his active hands to poke at the ball. He’s really good at anticipating plays and being at the right spot to create turnovers. Offensively he plays with a ton of confidence. He’s the kind of player you put the ball in his hands and he’s gonna make something good happen. He thrives on getting in the lane and creating for himself as well others. Shows a soft touch and love shooting the high floater. Crafty passer in pick and roll situations. He has the ability to throw a teammate into an open look. Has a nice looking three-point shot, but isn’t a player that settles. His game revolves around getting paint touches.
