is coming off a productive 56% shooting season from the field, which is paralleled with his immense attention to detail when he’s in the game. At 6’8, Medina has fine-tuned his footwork to a tee, allowing him to get to his spot in the paint and around the mid-range area. On the defensive end, Medina constantly communicates with his teammates and closes out efficiently on shooters. If opponents dare to attack the rim, it’s almost certain that Medina will meet them there to deny shot attempts. Currently ranked as the ninth-best forward in the class of 2027, he’s proven himself numerous times to be a dominant threat across the board.

had a solid season, but his play in the playoffs is what truly makes him stand out and has you questioning just how high his ceiling is. The 6’9 big man is a spark off the bench; he plays with fire, and that play is contagious. What really stands out besides his size is the ability to open things up. Medina rides momentum; he makes key plays in big moments in games and can finish both inside and out. He’s a prospect who can finish for over-the-top dunks, uses his footwork to get inside and finish at the basket, or can pop in the PnR and hit the mid range and occasionally the 3-ball. We’re curious to see how he looks this summer in preparation for a year that Rock Canyon gets to run it back as the 6A state champs

has provided Rock Canyon with a steady offensive tempo, putting in 100% effort at all times. Being Rock Canyon’s glue guy, Medina is always willing to make the extra pass or the extra cut when need be. Additionally, Medina utilizes his size at 6’8 to attack defenders from all angles. Contributing the third-leading amount of boards (3.8 RPG) for the Jags, Medina shows up when it matters on both ends of the ball. This offseason will allow Medina to expand his confidence coming off a state title. The lengthy junior will be a problem come next season, being a high focus for Rock Canyon.

If we’re going off upside, there are not many prospects in the state with the ceiling that Medina has. He shows flashes of dominance at times and it looks like he’s starting to get more in a rhythm and being rewarded for his play. He’s a 6’9 big man who runs the floor well, finishes in traffic, and finishes above the basket. He has excellent size and runs the floor extremely well. He is also an athletic rebounder who grabs boards in bunches as well. He’s a player who has the look and is now starting to produce as well. He’s an X-factor for Rock Canyon and could be the difference in a state championship if he’s locked in.

Medina is a high-ceiling big whose development could unlock everything for Rock Canyon. At 6’8, his frame alone changes matchups, and when he plays with force, he becomes a real presence inside. He’ll need to rebound at a higher rate, be more physical, and alter shots consistently. The flashes are there. Dominance and consistency are the next step toward becoming the anchor they need. When it starts to click, watch out. He is a top X-factor in the conference.

Medina is a 6’8 paint protector with high upside and allows Rock Canyon to play big and plug the paint. He moves well around the high post, has soft touch, and finishes over the top. He also has a developing back-to-the-basket game that is opening up to be able to score down low on smaller defenders. We saw him have a couple of big moments this summer with easy dunks. He has overwhelming size, and when it all comes together for him I feel that he could be one of the top bigs in the state. Why not show it at the showcase on September 13th?

At 6’8″, Medina immediately stands out with his physical presence and developing skill set. He alters shots, moves fluidly for his size, and has soft hands on catches inside. Medina finished several plays with power on dunks and showed flashes of offensive touch around the rim. Still developing, but trending upward, he’s a long-term prospect with upside that’s starting to turn into real production, and that was on display as Rock Canyon won each game convincingly with him playing a big part.
