Palisade has been an immovable force to begin the season. They’re sitting on 11-0 on the year and have had so many contributions to help get them to that point. One of those standouts has been Jax, who has appeared to have leaped. This year, he’s averaging 9.2 points a game. When they’ve needed him to up it, he does, and when the game calls for him to contribute in other ways, he’s capable of that as well. Jax is filling up the box sheet and is a reason that they’re looking like the favorites right now. He jumps onto the rankings with his play.
Bavor has put together an impressive summer and enters the season firmly on the watchlist. He’s shown strong two way play, with his point guard skills continuing to stand out. Offensively, his vision and decision making have improved significantly. He is consistently finding open teammates, hitting cutters, and knowing when to attack the rim to finish. Defensively, Bavor has elevated his game with better footwork and on ball pressure, making it tough for opponents to get clean driving lanes. His growth as a floor leader and commitment on defense make him a player to keep an eye on this season
I was a fan of how Jaquiox Bavor facilitated open looks for his teammates last weekend. He did a great job of drawing attention and then dishing it off at the right time. I also thought that he played some stout defense. He didn’t give the guy that he was guarding much breathing room and he displayed lateral quickness.
Bavor was absolutely lights out this weekend putting himself on the map with how he played. Anytime he stepped on the court there was complete control of the game, and his point guard skills were on full display. His handles were tight, his footwork was clean, and defenders had a tough time staying in front of him. He was blowing by guys left and right, getting into the lane with ease and finishing at the rim like it was nothing. Just smooth, controlled, and super efficient. What really set Bavor apart was how unselfish he played. He was always looking to set up his teammates. He kept his head up, constantly scanning the floor, and was making the right reads over and over. Classic floor general vibes. He ran the show, kept the offense flowing, and made everyone around him better. Just a super high-level performance all weekend
