, no longer in big brother’s shadow, is emerging as a heck of a player in his own right. He played at a very high level in a high-level game against Power 5, scoring 19 points and using his quick first step and quickness to get past defenders and then drop floaters into the bottom of the basket. He finished the contest with 19 points and made the biggest basket of the outing for his team, a driving, contested floater that propelled
Team Haliburton
into a 91-90 lead with just 30 seconds left.

Jamir is a true floor general, and was a key reason why Team Haliburton made it to the 16u championship game. He’s one of the quickest players in the state of Wisconsin, and was constantly getting into the lane to create for his teammates. Threw some accurate lobs to his forwards in the dunker spot, but could also thread the needle with a bounce pass through tight gaps. Gets after it on the defensive end looking to force turnovers and get out in transition. The lefty also possesses deep shooting range beyond the arc.

Batemon proved to be a top play maker over the weekend for Team Haliburton . He put his teammates in position to succeed. His strength and shiftiness with the ball were on full display. Most impressive was his ability to hit shots from range in succession.

Jamir was the quickest player that I saw all day on Saturday. He was just running circles around defenders with the ball, getting into the lane to create good looks for his teammates all game long. Batemon sees the floor really well, able to thread the needle with a bounce pass, deliver an accurate lob to a big around the rim, or kick the ball out to an open shooter. Showed he’s more than capable of scoring on his own as well as he added in a few threes to help lead Team Haliburton to a big win in 16u play.
