Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Miller took to expanding his game this season, adding some refinement and finesse to his explosive play. Not only did he polish up the handle and the outside shooting, but Miller looked more aggressive getting into the paint and using his strength to finish through and over defenders. He’s heading in the right direction offensively and showing that potential as a two-way player at the next level. He has offers from Montana and the University of Evansville.

Previous Rank: 26rnMiller’s talent has never been in question. He’s a high-flying 6’6 guard with explosiveness on both ends of the court that simply overpowers many opponents. However, this season he has shown an incredibly improved and reliable handle that has helped him get to the rim with better efficiency, drawing more fouls, and putting pressure on help side defenders. It’s a big reason his game has taken off this season and helped Gonzaga Prep get to an 8-1 record. Miller has also welcomed the role as the number one guy for the Bullpups and has played with exceptional confidence. He’s attacking defenders from multiple areas, playing through contact, and he’s been a force on the glass knowing his team needs his size on the boards.

Quite possibly the top athlete in the state, Miller is a guy who could really shine this season at Gonzaga Prep. He’s been on a roll since late summer and into the fall, showing off his potential as a two-way threat with serious upside. If he gets out to a strong start, lookout. Miller has the physical tools and the mindset that is hard to stop when he’s rolling.

As I said above, Gonzaga Prep has some big shoes to fill with Jayden Stevens gone, but if anyone can do it, it’s Miller. He’s an other-worldly athlete who can be utterly dominant at times and I think he’s ready to lead this team. He really locked in as a defender in crunch time situations this summer and he’ll have to play big on that side of the ball for G Prep, picking up both guards and posts. Offensively, he has the ability to score from inside and out, and he’ll have to be that consistent scorer on most nights for this team to reach their potential.

There is one game moment in particular I saw from Miller that hooked me on the idea of him as a lockdown defender. This summer in the title game of a weekend tournament, Miller played some of the best minutes of defense I’ve seen from him. He sent shots off the backboard, locked down on the ball, and held his ground in the post, possession after possession. It was a truly game-changing effort. Now, Miller has flashed some of the same potential offensively but I think if he can provide that production on defense for a whole season it will get him to a place after high school where he has more time to develop his overall game. That being said, the potential to be an elite defender is there and I’m excited to see what he can do this year.

has one of the biggest upsides from any guard in his class in my opinion. His physical tools are about as good as it gets for a player with his skillset. He’s a beast when driving the lane and can out-muscle plenty of players his size or bigger at the cup. He sits at 6-foot-6 and has wirey strength to back it up. This will be his second season as a Bullpup and it should include a lot of opportunity with 6-foot-7 forward Jayden Stevens (22′) off to Oregon State.

No. 7 | Miller is one of the freakiest athletes in the state and at times he looks like an unstoppable force. The thing he needs to overcome is consistency. At times he can pull from way behind the arc and weave through defenses with ease but not with enough regularity. His consistency will be vital for Gonzaga Prep without Jayden Stevens this winter. One area Miller has improved is on the defensive side of the ball. He’s a guy who could end up near the top of this list when the year is over.
