Carney has been pretty key to the Bullpups defensive success this season (47.3 OPPG). His size at 6-foot-4, allows them to be pretty flexible defensively, and when he has the size advantage on opposing guards he’s quick enough to stay in front while really closing down passing and driving lanes with his reach. He’s also a solid rebounder from the backcourt and provides some unique ability as a point guard.

Carney is a pretty underrated guard from the east side of the state. He has decent size at 6-foot-4 to match up with both guard spots, and plays a pretty solid game on both ends of the floor. He plays stingy perimeter defense and makes timely plays offensively, capably scoring inside and out while showing good shot selection and patience offensively.

Carney is a steady two-way guard who plays with a good head and a will to compete on both ends. Can hit the three at a decent clip and has shown he can finish through contact inside, using his body to keep some separation against shot blockers. Very active mind on the defensive end, stays ready, hits his rotations, and has his hands ready and up to get deflections and steals.
