3/20/26: A deadly left-handed combo guard, Ja’Michael Mitchell Ja’Michael Mitchell 6'0" | PG Whitehaven | 2026 State TN did not get enough touches. For a team that struggled mightily to score a sure-handed, dynamic guard making choices at pace is ideal. And yet too often the ball ended in the hands of poor decision-makers and spotty shooters. Mitchell will play in college somewhere next fall. Tremendous on-ball defense against Walker Valley star Zach Davis Zach Davis 6'1" | PG Walker Valley | 2027 State TN in the third quarter. He also had a trapper helping him, which make the task slightly more manageable.

3/9/26: Elite on-ball defense. Mitchell was key for Whitehaven. He defended tremendous, small lefty Bryce Garnett Bryce Garnett 5'11" | PG Kirkwood | 2027 State TN and held his position every time. Garnett found open looks rarely, but credit the screen action for those occassions.

2/14/25: Wilson Central hosted rival Lebanon High School and JaMichael displayed some of skills and athleticism. And yet the performance left me wanting more. Mitchell needs to become more assertive and should even become vocal, as he is a leader of the team. Towan Siler Towan Siler 6'1" | PG Wilson Central | 2025 State TN plays with more urgency. Both of them need to be making the majority of the plays because the pair are significantlly better than the rest of their teammates. Mitchell can really get off of the ground and hit a pretty three-pointer early.
