PICTURED: [player_tooltip player_id='1760995' first='Ronald' last='Towns III']

Recruiting at the Division 1 level ends so late now that everyone else generally must wait to fill out their rosters. Scan the Top 20 uncommitted guards.

#1 [player_tooltip player_id='2283590' first='Carter' last='Ezell'] (Centennial)

Elite student. Elite shooter. Ideal wing guard height. Carter is the perfect option for D1 as a preferred walk-on (PWO), Division III, or certain D2 programs.

#2 [player_tooltip player_id='1560097' first='Kayin' last='Mitchell'] (Whitehaven)

During the final game of his high school career two-way guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560097' first='Kayin' last='Mitchell'] managed 10 points on 2-9 shooting. He did contribute four rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals in his 29 minutes. The three turnovers joined Whitehaven's 10 others and despite a 21-14 fourth quarter Tiger charge Walker Valley emerged victorious.

In Kayin's only year at Whitehaven High he impressed dozens of college coaches, earning him offers from: John A. Logan, Pearl River Community College, Ranger College, Itawamba Community College, Pellissippi State Community College, Dyersburg State Community College, Arkansas State-Mid South, Cleveland State Community College, Weatherford, Walters State Community College, Angelina, Columbia State Community College, Jones County Junior College, Air Force, Vincennes, Kilgore, Southwest Tennessee Community College, St. Petersburg.

#3 [player_tooltip player_id='2308938' first='Steven' last='Sherman'] (Ensworth)

#4 [player_tooltip player_id='1477322' first='Sean' last='Capshaw'] (Bearden)

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='2194624' first='Eli' last='Brown'] (Brentwood Academy)

#6 [player_tooltip player_id='1947289' first='Camden' last='Cole'] (Eagleville)

The Mr. Basketball Finalist, [player_tooltip player_id='1947289' first='Camden' last='Cole'] nearly inspired his Eagles to a State Championship as a senior. Their season's first and only loss crushed them to their core. Camden played his heart out in their March 20th State Semifinal loss to Humboldt's Vikings. Cole shoved in 38.7% of the team's points that March day. A team can't ask for more than 24 points, four rebounds, four steals in 25 game minutes. Alas, Eagleville fell 65-62.

#7 [player_tooltip player_id='1549096' first='MJ' last='Hayes'] (Memphis Business Academy)

No high school player endured a more gigantic fall from grace in the history of PrepHoops.com/Tennessee than former #1 overall [player_tooltip player_id='1549096' first='MJ' last='Hayes']. Why? Many reasons.

In 2024 MJ and his FACS Crusaders won the TSSAA State Championship under Dee Wilkes. You might not remember they overtook a loaded Providence Christian Academy (PCA) team thanks largely to MJ's tremendous second half scoring surge. He left the state for hi junior season only to return in 2026-2027 again aligning his star to exceptional leader Dee Wilkes at St. George's.

For an unknown reason Hayes and his father elected to leave the team in the middle of the season! [player_tooltip player_id='1549096' first='MJ' last='Hayes'] finished his high school eligibility at Memphis Business Academy with a whimper.

#8 [player_tooltip player_id='1760995' first='Ronald' last='Towns III'] (Southwind)
#9 [player_tooltip player_id='1580652' first='Tyshaun' last='Dewayne Poore'] (Cane Ridge)
#10 [player_tooltip player_id='2296676' first='Trey' last='Benson'] (Memphis Business Academy)
#11 [player_tooltip player_id='2281190' first='Jibriel' last='Koko'] (Alcoa) - State Champion
#12 [player_tooltip player_id='2139247' first='Ja'Michael' last='Mitchell'] (Whitehaven)

#13 [player_tooltip player_id='2281187' first='Jaiden' last='Pugh'] (Hillsboro)

Jaiden just won the Next Level Skills All-Star Game Dunk Contest April 7th.

#14 [player_tooltip player_id='2422715' first='Elliyon' last='Kinzer'] (Smyrna)

"Yon" Kinzer is down to two schools.
