About Tyshaun

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game I would say is smooth. I like to score but I try not to force my shot. I feel my iso game is where I'm best at and can create my shot at all three levels. I am also comfortable in catch and shoot situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I want to be the best on the court. I try to outwork my opponent on both ends of the court. I'm also looking to make my teammates better and get them easy looks to score.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I believe over the last few years in High School I've become a more vocal leader and communicator. I've also learned the importance of work together with my team to win. I do whatever it takes to win,even if it means sacrificing my good shot for a great shot. I have also become more aggressive on defense,which has help create more shots more me and my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My younger brothers accident in the spring of 2022 was a hard time for me. Seeing him injured was hard for me and my family. I know he loves basketball as much as I do. It made me appreciate the game of basketball more and know that at any moment that it could be gone. I take advantage of the opportunity I get everytime I'm on the court,play for my younger brother, and try to motivate him.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to attend a college that can help me improve my skills as a player. I want to attend a college that let's me be who I am as a player, but pushes me to the limit to achieve my goals on and off the court. I want to attend a school that help me learn what it takes to be a winner.A school that feels like family. I'm originally from Guam so family is everything.

Poore is at his best when he is using his quickness to the basket and can score in a variety of ways. Poore’s high basketball IQ took a huge step forward this past season while playing at Cane Ridge.
