Cofield has been a prospect to watch for a while now, but seemed to really start to put things together after announcing his intention to attend Bridgton Academy for a post-graduate year. A mobile big man that can really get up and down the floor, Cofield has some serious two-way potential at the next level. He’s all of 6’9″, has long arms, and is a quality athlete. He has good hands, has begun to show an impressive array of post moves. and tries to dunk everything around the rim. He shines defensively as a rim protector that is capable of moving his feet when switched onto the perimeter. When his motor is up, he’s a high level rebounder that is a terrific rim runner in transition. He looks the part of a scholarship prospect and has a chance to prove it this winter in the NEPSAC.

Cofield is a double-double machine who’s ultra active on both ends. The 6-foot-9 forward combines excellent athleticism, long arms and a quick second-jump, all of which make him a phenomenal rim protector – he also plays with great verticality and discipline. He’s still learning how to play offensively, but you never need to run a play for him because he has a nose for the ball and will create his own putbacks. He should get scholarship looks solely based on his physical tools and motor.

Cofield, one the top big men in the MIAA, enters the rankings at #119. Cofield dominates the paint on both ends of the floor; dunking everything he touches on offense and protecting the rim on defense. He’s shown this season that he can step out to the perimeter and make plays off one or two bounces. Defensively, he should have a high ceiling as a guy who moves his feet well laterally and has enough athleticism to make plays above the rim. When his motor is up, he’s as good as any big man playing in any of the six state associations in New England.
