has annihilated his opponents in the last stretch of the regular season, going full throttle to put his name on the map. Established as the #6-ranked combo guard in his class, Ward creates space off the dribble and finds his shots easily. Able to stretch the floor and knock down catch-and-shoot threes on an efficient basis, Ward has come up with 15.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 1.8 SPG in his senior campaign. Putting Legacy’s struggling season aside, Ward has been their brightest light, providing them with massive sparks of energy and dedication that can’t be coached.

Ward steps into this season as the leader for Legacy, looking to build on an All State honorable mention campaign where he averaged 14.1 points per game. He’s at his best with the ball in his hands, using elite vision to read the floor and deliver timely passes that keep the offense flowing. Defensively he brings toughness and intensity, while offensively he’s quick getting inside to collapse defenses before kicking out or finishing. Add in his lights out shooting from three, and Ward is the complete package his team will lean on in big moments

Ward has exceptional vision always seeing plays develop before they happen, and has a natural feel for putting teammates in positions to succeed. His ability to read defenses and make the right decision under pressure, combined with a smooth confident shot and a quick burst to blow by defenders, and you’ve got a guard who can impact the game in multiple ways. His speed and explosive first step make him a nightmare in transition and nearly impossible to stay in front of when he’s attacking the lane. He plays with poise and control knowing when to slow things down, when to push the pace and how to keep everyone involved. What truly defines him is his leadership. He sets the tone with his unselfishness and competitiveness, always putting the team’s success before his own stats. Teammates feed off his energy and confidence, and he leads by example on both ends of the floor. That mix of vision, speed, scoring ability and leadership is exactly why he’s ranked where he is. Heading into the season we’re excited to see how Ward continues to evolve as a playmaker and a floor general continuing to make everyone around him better

Ward is a player that we were high on heading into the event, but we had a few questions about, and those were answered at the showcase. I wanted to know how he would look with other top guards on his team and how he would set himself apart. He did that as he showcased a mature game and high IQ. He moves to his own tune and was not able to get slowed down with just one player. They sent double teams his way, and he did not just force the issue as many other players had. He scored from all three levels, using balance and craft to get to his spots. Despite being on a team that played fast and free around him, which led to turnovers and a deficit, he still found ways to stand out with his composure, decision-making, and polished scoring ability. Those are plays that stand out to me in a showcase, not just the guy who is gunning, trying to keep up. I liked what I saw from him at the event.

Ward enters the season with momentum after averaging 14.1 points last year and elevating his game even further this summer with Team Kaun. Thriving as a combo guard, he’s shown improved court vision and creates opportunities for his teammates while still being a consistent scoring threat. His scoring package includes all consistency from all three levels. Ward is great at attacking the rim, knocking down mid range shots, and showcasing elite accuracy from deep. In fact, his perimeter shooting has been a standout all summer, as he’s been lights out from beyond the arc. With his improved skill set and growing leadership, Ward is poised for a breakout season and could cement himself as one of the most dynamic guards in the region

Ward was absolutely locked in this past weekend. He looked confident from the jump, creating buckets for himself with ease and setting up his teammates like a true floor general. His shot was falling and the three ball was smooth. He also had a deadly mid range jumper that no one could stop. Ward was constantly scanning the floor, finding open shooters, and making the right reads. He played with poise and vision, always one step ahead of the defense. It felt like every time he touched the ball, something good happened. Just an all-around standout performance

Ward is the ultimate three-point specialist—he can light it up from anywhere on the floor. Whether he’s in the corner, on the wing, or deep beyond the arc, he’s got the range to make it rain. If defenders close out on him too quickly he’ll take it to the hoop and finish strong. Ward also has seriously smooth ball handling skills that round out his arsenal. When running the point opponents are always expecting him to look for his shot first, but what really stands out is his ability to create for others. His passing lets his teammates get open looks and easy buckets. Defensively is where you can see his full game come to life. Ward’s size allows him to get into the lane, grab boards, and quickly turn defense into offense with fast breaks

Ward brought dependable shooting inside the arc, comfortable pulling up for shot attempts should an opening present itself. Around the rim, the guard brings the necessary strength to draw fouls, an added bonus is his shooting from the free throw line.
