Palomino has shown us enough to believe a breakout could be coming. He plays with a relentless motor, brings real toughness to the paint and consistently makes winning plays around the rim. His ability to grab boards and create extra possessions while finishing through contact gives him a foundation that can translate into a much bigger role. Defensively his toughness and presence on the perimeter make him a problem for opponents. What continues to impress us the more we see him is how consistently he makes his impact felt on the floor. If that continues Palomino has a real opportunity to make a major jump this season with Legacy and see his stock rise quickly

Palomino was the under the radar breakout performer of the day. He’s surely a stock booster from the event and it wasn’t just flashes, he lit it up for the entire day. He stayed shot-ready, came flying off screens and repeatedly knocked down threes with a smooth, confident stroke. He also was creating for himself off the dribble and shooting and went on a few 3-point runs where he hit 4 or 5 shots in a row. I liked how smooth it came for him and how he ran the offense. Despite being hot in games, he wasn’t just gunning. He wanted the ball but still made the extra pass and read what the defense gave him. Palomino mixed in a contested mid-range pull-up and defensive stops as well. He popped on the day and while I did not know a ton about him prior to the event, I can put him in one of the top shooting performances I’ve seen in a bit. Solid day for him. 

Palomino came out with relentless energy and an aggressive style of play. He controlled the boards crashing both ends to secure rebounds. Offensively he was always around the rim, showing the ability to convert put backs through contact and finish tough opportunities with composure. Defensively his aggression and presence in the paint disrupted opponents, making him a constant challenge in the post. Palomino’s combination of toughness, hustle and inside scoring made him one of the more impactful and consistent players on the floor

Palomino bolts to the rim on his drives, willing himself to points. Additionally, Palomino is vocal every minute he’s on the court and loves to communicate.
