Andrew Gill | Prep Hoops Scout
JP Parnell-Patton turned in a strong, physical performance, finishing with 12 points. A crafty post presence, he used his strength and solid mid-range touch to score efficiently. Parnell stayed active in transition, rebounded his position well, and wasn’t afraid to sacrifice his body by taking charges on defense. With the ability to play above the rim and impact the game in multiple areas, he provided steady production throughout.

Another part of Benson’s talented Class of 2028 group, Parnell-Patton made an immediate impact for the Techmen in 2024-25. On a team lacking raw height, he made up for that with his athleticism and strength inside but also showed the ability to face the basket and create off the dribble for finishes around the hoop. He missed some time in mid-season due to injury but wound up averaging 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds.

He had a pretty versatile offensive game, showing an easy stroke from deep range, taking his time to score 1v1 closer in, and working with good balance to score on the move to the rim. He was able to read the floor from different spots to make key passes, both in the open court, working with his back to the hoop, and sizing up the floor from outside. Also made a few really nice defensive plays, chasing down guys in the open court and coming over to help from the weak side in the half. (RM)
