15 U guard who I hadn’t yet seen in person, Sparks stood out with his ability to handle the basketball Vs pressure and make advanced reads to teammates. Sparks confused the defense as he’s telegraph one pass to an open teammate, wait for the defense to react and hit a different open teammate for an even better look. Sparks also hit the game-winning layup to wrap up the 5 on 5 portion of the showcase. While Olentangy Berlin should be good this season, they could be the top team in central Ohio in 2028-29.
Sparks has a great foundation to be a high-ceiling player. He has nice size, athleticism, and skills for a freshman guard. I really liked his scoring decision-making. He always passed up a good shot for a great shot. He was aggressive and scored when he could. He showed a good ability to score and create his own shot as well.
