About Jackson
Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
Cullert is a smooth-operating swingman who showcased his ability to impact the game both as a shooter and a creator. He spaced the floor effectively from beyond the arc and also showed that he can put the ball on the deck to create offense for himself. His shooting mechanics are clean and repeatable, and it often feels like the shot is going in the moment the ball leaves his hands. Cullert’s athleticism also stood out, as he has no issues playing above the rim and finishing plays with explosiveness. His combination of skill and athletic ability gives him intriguing upside on the wing. As he continues to develop, adding strength and muscle to his frame will be important, particularly when matching up against older and more physical opponents. With his blend of shooting, athleticism, and perimeter versatility, Cullert is a prospect who should be drawing significant interest from high-academic division ones.

Cullert’s impact can sometimes be overlooked given that so much of it comes without the ball in his hands, but make no mistake about how important the junior’s role is toward winning basketball. A sharpshooting swingman, Cullert contributed 11 points with his four field goals coming off a total of zero dribbles. He thrives in Hun’s movement-heavy system, finding open space along the perimeter for a smooth high-release jumper or converting easy layups on opportunistic cuts to the rim. Despite lacking strength, Cullert also uses his height and length to chip in as a rebounder. His blend of size, shooting, and IQ should make him a popular name among high-academic D1 programs over the course of the recruiting cycle.

Cullert impressed with his ability to play inside and out with an expanded offensive arsenal. His size is imposing on the perimeter and can cause mismatch issues. He does a good job moving without the basketball. He has good instincts on either end of the floor. On defense he used his length to alter shots and collect rebounds. Hoping moving back a year can help develop his frame more and he can get stronger. He is stuck between a few different positions.
