I got a look at Tolbert just in time to add him for the rankings. The big man is going to provide a nice interior precense for the Tigers, with his ability to rebound and block shots. He enters the rankings for the first time as a top 55 prospect.

For whatever reason, Douglas has a plethora of bigs and Tolbert was one of them. He has a strong frame, and is at his best when he was banging away against other big men. He showed decent hands as well, both catching the ball, and using his large mits to palm the ball, when completing dunks.

Tolbert is a powerful post with huge hands and a strong frame. He dillengently ran the floor, and showed good hands catching and finishing around the rim. I wouldn’t label him as explosive but he finished above the rim with dunks on more than one occasion.

I would have been taking a look at Tolbert regardless of his performance, as size is always an intriguing premium. As it is, Tolbert showed he’s more than a big body, racking up 16 points in his season debut. I’m really intrigued to see if he can keep it going this weekend at the WWS.
