There’s nothing like making the list of ranked players for the first time. In this article, a follow-up to New Additions Part 1, we look at some more new additions to the list.
Henderson provides additional firepower to the deepest team in the state. The two way athlete stars on the gridiron and will be a nice addition to the state champs. He won’t be counted on to score but Henderson’s ability to defend and rebound should allow him to contribute to the squad.
I really liked Johnson’s game when I got a chance to check him out during the Desert Reign Fall League. He played well, showing good speed along with some wiggle. Johnson should be poised to contribute for a good Desert Shield’s squad. He enters the rankings as a top 75 prospect.
Looking to see what Walker contributes to the Spartans this season. His size is going to help on the interior, but I’m also looking to see if he has the ability to catch and finish around the rim, and in transition. The 6’8 center enters the rankings as a top 70 prospect.
I’m not sure how many minutes Caramanica will get this season, however that’s due more to the depth of the state champs. I got a chance to check him out during my Liberty team preview and he showed that he could be a wing contributor. He’ll have to prove he can defend to get on the floor, however he has a decent offensive skill set and could be a valuable role player in a pinch.
I got a look at Tolbert just in time to add him for the rankings. The big man is going to provide a nice interior precense for the Tigers, with his ability to rebound and block shots. He enters the rankings for the first time as a top 55 prospect.
I was really impressed with what I saw from Corvera this weekend. He has some wiggle, and a big time handle. Covera didn’t shoot the ball much, but his passing has him in the category of one of the top dime droppers in the state. He makes his debut as a top 30 player. Look for him to rise if he continues to play at the level he did this weekend at the Wild West Shootout.
Reid is a long agile big that plays for Douglas. The top 25 center has a chance to have a major impact for a Douglas squad looking to reach the 5A final four again this year. His best skill is his rebounding, as Reid has shown a knack for grabbing tough in traffic boards for his team.
