Still emerging on the scene, Barber utilized his athleticism to hunt the basketball and to play bigger than he is. He generated extra possessions by jumping over others for boards on offense and by jumping passing lanes for steals on defense. Still putting it together as a scorer, Barber went from speed to power when driving to the basket. With the occasional three to keep the defense honest, he would get a step on his man, then shrug him off to get into the lane for two.
