Expert Analysis

Vigil was a steady presence at point guard for Brighton, using his quickness and feel for the game to make an impact all season. His first step allowed him to get by defenders and create advantages, whether for himself or his teammates. He played with great vision, consistently finding open shooters and making the right reads. When defenses backed off, he was more than capable of knocking down shots. His speed in the open floor added another dimension, pushing the pace and keeping pressure on opposing defenses. Vigil’s control and playmaking made him a key part of Brighton’s success

Vigil is a player who I gravitated towards in the grassroots season, as he’s all about sacrifice, and he quietly is doing the dirty work that allows teammates to shine. He sets hard screens and rolls, he’s constantly moving, he knocks down shots when they come, and gets out and finishes in transition. Vigil has a great understanding of the game and how to get the most out of what’s presented to him. He took that into the high school season and was the team’s glue guy. He averaged 8.4 points and 4.5 rebounds a game and took a lot of the pressure off of teammates. He’s a player that I feel could be a cultural fit at the next level, and he will teammates to step up and hold them accountable. Solid finish to his career for one of the hardest workers in the class.

adds even more height to a loaded Brighton roster, along with impressive court awareness on both ends of the ball. Producing nearly 2 SPG, 4.3 RPG, and 8 PPG, Vigil makes the most of the opportunities given to him. The 6’0 senior never lets off the gas, no matter what the scoreboard says. In the final stretch of his high school career, Vigil will pair nicely along with superstars Aiden Wanrow and Austin Sickler.

Vigil is a player Brighton should be excited about heading into the season. He’s an active, high motor player who’s constantly on the move with purpose always creating something positive for his team. He goes after rebounds with intent, securing extra possessions and getting his team out and running. His outlet passes are on point, sparking fast breaks and turning defense into instant offense. Once he’s in transition he runs the floor hard, beating defenders to spots and putting pressure on the defense. Vigil’s energy is contagious, his effort is nonstop and he has all the tools to become an impact player this year

Vigil isn’t a name many know yet, but he’s the type who makes you take notice. He’s a high-motor competitor; he does whatever it takes to impact the game, and we saw that this summer. He’s a player who isn’t afraid to crash the glass, he cuts, sets hard screens, and defends with grit. He doesn’t need the ball to be effective, but he finds ways to make winning plays. After getting on the scene this summer, he’s a player I’m genuinely intrigued by, and this showcase is the perfect stage to prove himself further. Hope to see him there.

Morgan Daws is a team that you find yourself watching every single time that they take the floor. They demand it. While watching various players, one player kept standing out, No. 4. Vigil is a high-motor glue guy who makes winning plays. He crashes the glass hard, cuts at the right time, and makes the extra pass. On defense, he gets into passing lanes and forces turnovers but its those plays that nobody sees that really separate him for me. Not only with scoring. He’s a slasher who doesn’t need the ball to be effective and competes hard on every possession. He opens up the floor with screens, he moves without the ball to create for someone else and does the boxing out and diving for balls. He’s a classic “every coach wants him” player and I can see him on a NAIA radar.
