Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Greg’s isolation scoring ability helped keep Da Future 17u in it until the very end against MN Lace Up. He has a shifty handle with the creativity to pull out a number of moves to get to the rim. Long wingspan helps him finish against taller defenders, and he showed the body control to hang in the air to create angles to score. Even when he wasn’t able to finish, Greg repeatedly drew contact that earned him trips to the FT line.

A long guard that’s good in transition and likes to get out and run,

has potential to be one of the better rim-attackers for Iowa City West this fall. With a quick first step and attack-first mentality, Ford likes to get to the rim and finish as much as he can. A fast guard with long arms, Ford’s effort is never in question.
He can also serve as a shooter off-ball, if he’s not the primary ball-handler for his team. He shouldn’t be called a “corner three merchant” or anything like that, but if he’s left open in the corner he’ll knock down shots.

Ford appeared in 17 games off the bench for the Trojans last season and will have a chance to step into a much larger role as a senior following losses to graduation and a new coaching staff taking over. He’s a quick guard who can play downhill and get to the rim as well as impact the game as an on-ball defender.
