One of the best athletes in the gym over the weekend, James showed off explosion and hand-eye coordination that, despite not having the most polished basketball skillset in Mt. Vernon, made him one of the better players there, too.
A player that could go up and swat layup attempts, would fight for rebounds and sky up amongst the trees to grab them, and follow shots on the offensive glass for put-backs, James was relentless. On the defensive side of the ball, if he grabbed a rebound or snagged a turnover, he’d immediately look up the court to find a teammate in transition. James wasn’t the primary ball-handler for the Trojans for a reason, but if he were to determine that he wanted to play basketball at the next level, there is a vision there, especially if he continues to develop his handle.
