Johnson is a certified sniper. He made his mark throughout the season, including a 10 three-pointer performance in December. Shooting was how he fit into an upperclassman laden team, that finished runner ups in Class 5A. It’s natural for a young guard to get his feet wet as a sharpshooter. Then developing into an all around impact player. When going against his age group, he’s a complete and confident scorer. Expect that to be showcased this spring and summer at the the 15U level. Lead to success for his sophomore season.

Johnson put his name in the Mustang Holiday Classic record books with 10 three pointers in the opening victory. While his shooting didn’t quite reach those heights again, he continued to play older than his youth with steady play. Along with the feathery soft three point shot, he has a legit midrange game. It will be interesting to see how his athleticism and driving game develops but it’s clear he has a fantastic foundation as a shooter with solid size. And the room to keep working into a complete scorer at the varsity level and beyond.

The freshman hit his first five three pointers in the opening frame and kept it rolling with 10 of 12 shooting on the night. Setting a Mustang tournament record and finishing with 34 points. Pure shooter, with a quick release. Is clearly adjusting quickly to varsity play, looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow against tougher competition.

Johnson is one of the freshmen most ready to make an instant impact this winter. He’s a sharpshooter, who is already hitting comfortably from college range. Impressively, he moves smartly without the ball. And looked always ready to shoot cleanly after flaring out to open spots from three. Did a lot of his damage in these early scrimmages off threes, or relocating after being ran off the line. But hints at the type of complete scorer he will be were also evident in these clips. Including a great take to the rim against a taller, athletic upperclassman defender.

One of the top standouts at the camp. Switch gears on drives, getting low to explode after lulling defenders to sleep with his crossover. Versatility and shooting should lead to early production. For more, check out the Tip Off article.

Johnson is a skilled and confident guard, who doesn’t carry himself like a freshman. Was scoring all over the court, complete with a silky perimeter jumper. And with outstanding body control on drives to the rim. His shooting is an early ticket to earning minutes for a good Carl Albert squad. But don’t sleep on him being a playmaking and all around contributor as the season progresses.

had a great weekend and displayed a good jump shot in every game that he played. He has good size for his age and used his length to get his shot off consistently. As a result of his clean form, the spin on the ball created good bounces to help him knock down tough looks. When left open, Gibson knocked down shots with ease. He often would force defenders to make a decision by uses screens and as soon as his defender would go under, Gibson would happily take the jumper and knocked them down from both mid-range as well as from three.

had a great start to the weekend by carrying the offensive load for Oklahoma Flo. Gibson showcased a very versatile skillset on offense. He continuously made good reads in the open court and was able to cut through defenses with patience and great footwork. His shooting mechanics looked much more impressive than his age would suggest. Facing full-court pressure for the entirety of his first game, Gibson was able to fend off defenders with a tight handle. He was able to hit several mid-range pull-ups as well as finishing with good touch on floaters near the rim.
