The football star is finding his legs on the court and was a monster in the title game. Too quick, too strong while also playing under control off the dribble. Mixes the ability to stop on a dime for mid-range jumpers with powerful finishes at the rim fitting of a running back. All action player, who gives Carl Albert a toughness and strength edge in the backcourt.

Matthews is currently killing it on the gridiron as a powerful running back. He’ll likely serve a similar big role for the Titans in the gym. Strong and powerful, he’s a transition monster. While also capable of being a tough slasher in the halfcourt. Over the years, the best Titans teams have had football standouts setting the tone. Matthews will be that this year, while also providing a scoring punch.

After checking in against Jenks, the youngster brought some much needed energy and toughness to spark the Titans. The football background is evident with the strength and tenacity he plays with. Especially on the defensive end, as he seemed to live in passing lanes and picking off lazy passes to race to the other end for scores. Already strong for his age, and quick for his frame, Matthews is a handful to keep out of the lane. And a good finisher when he does get to the rim. Football very well could be his future sport over basketball. But the best Carl Albert teams over the last decade have other featured dual sport stars like Matthews.

was arguably the best scorer at the event. He led his team to the championship and proved to be a three-level scorer. The first game that I saw him play, he had 16 points at halftime. That sums up how the rest of it went. He got to the rim routinely, attacking gaps and reading the defense. If the defense would slide over with the help, he would find the open man. If he was left open, he would knock down the three pointer. He would run in transition and pick up fast break points. On defense, he was a solid defender, as he forced a few steals and grabbed multiple rebounds. His display of talent showed that he is an elite scorer that can impact every aspect of the game, while leading his team to the championship.

Deliajh Matthews showed the ability to score at will with one of the best scoring performances of the day. Finishing in transition, knocking down mid-range jumpers, and knocking down a couple of threes reflects this. All of that happened in the first half, as he went into halftime with 16 points, ending the game with 18 points. He turned steals into fast break opportunities. On defense, he would fight through screens and even tipped the ball away. It was a great performance by him that helped his team win.
