On Tuesday, Mason picked up an offer from Northwest Missouri State. The Division II power obviously has really liked what they have seen from the long, rangy point guard recently. Mason can impact games in many different ways. his ability to score from all three levels makes him a tough cover on offense. Not only can he get to his spots with solid ball handling, but he has also added a dimension to his game with his ability to finish through defenders and embrace contact. He has tremendous positional size and can defend a multitude of positions thanks to his athleticism and length.

Mason has been competing with AAO Flight 17U this semester. The junior has already gotten off to a fast start this spring with the club and looks to keep that rolling into the summer months. Most recently, Mason scored 15 points, to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists against Virginia UA Rise 17U. He was able to help his team finish 2-1 at The Circuit League: Duel in DFW this past weekend. Mason has great versatility and positional size that allows him to defend multiple positions. Offensively, he can see over perimeter defenders and is a willing passer. Mason has outstanding vision and has shown the ability to score in a multitude of ways.

Mason’s junior season has been derailed due to a nasty preseason ankle injury. He’s been back for about a month now, and while he has had moments it feels like he won’t be 100% till grassroots season. The fact that he’s pushed himself to come back and contribute for BA is a plus for his competitive nature. Which could set the stage for him to blow up this spring and summer. Because unlike a lot of 6’4 to 6’5 guards who can handle it a bit, he does have true PG potential. Sees the floor well and can read the game. Eager to see what kind of impact he has during the playoffs. And also what he looks like this spring and summer when fully healthy.

Another intriguing prospect is Mason. He’s a 6’5″ PG. Mason showed his ball handling and ability to handle the ball under pressure. Coming off an dislocated ankle injury, Gene played well considering his quick recovery. He also had a nice dunk coming off the baseline towards the end of the game. Mason looks like he will be back in rhythm for their playoff run and is a talent to watch.

True lead guard skills, in the body of a two-guard/wing. Starting to flash some intriguing athlete ability, but his bread and butter might be the way he operates in the halfcourt. Very hard to stop to get to his spots in the mid-range. Which is added by the height advantage. Motor can run a little cold at times, but improvements like that do tend to come with gift of maturity as players age. Set for a potentially monstrous season for one of Oklahoma’s best high school programs, Broken Arrow.

Jumbo lead guard, who just had a strong finish to his spring on the Recruit Look Circuit. Scoring chops are on display in the video, smoothly getting to his spots in the mid-range and hitting floaters. In his first two varsity seasons, Mason has flashed tantalizing skill to go along with next level physical traits. Consistency is key to finding to unlocking his high ceiling. A strong close to his summer would set the stage for a breakout junior year for 6A powerhouse BA.

Mason was very impressive getting downhill and to the rim. He looked like he was playing against cones and had some crafty finishes at the basket. At 6’5, he has great size at his position as a true combo. He ran the PG most of the time he was in the game this weekend behind

One of the highest upside freshman prospects, he’s a taller guard with flashes of being a creator and playmaker for his teammates. He’s showing signs this spring of his athleticism coming in, which would make him a smooth guard capable of getting where he wants on the court, with the burst to turn the corner when needed. Mason is currently running with Southern Assault, facing high level competition on the Adidas 3SSB circuit in Bryan, Texas.
