Continuing what’s become a theme over the course of his senior season, Runjo was effective going to work inside in a double-figure effort. Despite going down with a loss, the Serbian big man impressed with 14 points, taking advantage of an undersized Scanlan frontcourt. He was effective scoring out of the post or as a dumpoff threat on the baseline, with soft touch to help overcome a lack of lift as a finisher at the rim. His rim protection and rebounding pose potential question marks but true bigs with Runjo’s blend of size and interior skill will always be coveted at the scholarship level.

Big body inside. As we stated up above sets really good screens. Uses his body well to gain position in the paint. Keeps possessions alive. Cleans up misses and scores or gets his team another shot. Showed a strong power finish from the block.

Rung is a big man with a polished skill set that consistently showed up throughout the game. He finished everything around the rim with strength and balance, converting through contact and staying composed in traffic. His touch stood out on short jump hooks and soft floaters, making him a reliable option in the paint. He also did a great job catching and finishing quickly, keeping the defense from loading up. On the defensive end, he protected the rim well, using his length to block shots and alter attempts. He rebounded on both ends, securing possessions and creating extra chances for his team.

An emerging X-factor within the CHSAA, Runjo continued a strong start to the year with a workmanlike 19 points up front. The native of Serbia and Grand River Academy (OH) transfer took advantage of a smaller Millennium frontcourt while sticking to his bread-and-butter interior game. Runjo showed soft touch with either hand and swift footwork while navigating traffic in the paint. He used his size and heft to haul in seven rebounds (four offensive) and block a pair of shots as well. Scholarship-level programs up to the low D1 level that put an emphasis on post play would be wise to take a look at Runjo down the stretch of the season.
