13p 6r 2a 3s vs MC
-The sophomore enjoyed a productive first season at SMA in the program’s first year in the BCL A Conference. Rich had some success against OLMC as a slashing guard that got two feet into the paint to make plays for his bigs around the rim or his shooters around the rim–a feat that is difficult against a stifling Cougars defense. Rich raced back to strip away a layup attempt before his opponent could get the ball above his hips, hit a wing 3, and forced several turnovers to keep the game within 5 points for most of the contest. With the requisite size, skillset, and with several key pieces in the backcourt graduating this spring–Rich’s profile within the area will only continue to grow as he proves his worth as a 2-way point guard.

Ezra has been one of the more underrated underclassmen in the area this season because of how efficient and complete his game has looked. He has a nice all around feel, defends hard on the other end, and compliments the starting guards well playing off the ball without needing to dominate the possession. Ezra can really shoot it, and he’s a reliable catch and shoot option who makes defenses pay when they leave him space. What I’ve liked most is that he stays productive without needing too many touches, but he still has the ability to get into his mix and score in isolation when the offense stalls. Rich has quietly proven he’s more than just a role piece, and his scoring ability is better than people realize, which is why his stock has been on the rise all season.

Rich is another bright spot of a team that is in the bottom of the standings, but a part of another younger roster building for the future. The dynamic combo guard has improved his three-level scoring as well as his feel to get others involved as more defenses have schemed to take away his strength of filling up in the scoring column. All of which should pay dividends as he steps into an important spring/summer for his development.

Rich is another young, talented scoring guard who made his way to the BCL after a productive freshman season at Suitland. St. Mary’s Annapolis has an intriguing backcourt rotation comprised of guards in various classes, but Rich has provided a three-level scoring punch who can impact offensively both on or off the ball. He uses his strong frame on drives to initiate contact and help gain separation on attempts around the rim or can tap into some shifty crossovers while operating in space for jump shots. St. Mary’s Annapolis has had a tough schedule thus far and sports a 3-11 overall record and 1-4 in BCL play.

Didn’t play a ton in this one but has the makings of a high-level point guard down the line. Aggressive style of play, handles it well, good feel and change of pace with the ball in his hands. Understands where the ball needs to go and makes plays happen off the bounce, defensively that spatial awareness shows through as he forced several dribble pick-ups and trapped well from the weak side. Interested to see how he develops within a JR system known for development and depth.
