Evan has a lightning quick release on his three point shot, and it allowed him to consistently beat the closeout to put three points on the board for his team. Murray started off the game strong with a pair of three point makes off the catch, and then a hard backdoor cut leading to a lay-up. Thought he displayed good vision from the perimeter as well to see the floor and deliver a couple of assists to slashing teammates. Helped his team get off to a strong start and hold on to their lead for the length of the game.

Evan was doing everything he could to give his team a chance in the 17u semi-finals. Against a tough Team Haliburton squad, Murray was hitting shot after shot to push things down to the wire. Down the stretch Evan showed no signs of fear with the ball in his hands, and was knocking down three point shots at a high rate throughout the second half. Had a tough and-one finish as well that tied the game up late. Although his team came up just short, it was an impressive showing from the Chanhassen guard.

Chanhassen was missing some good looks in the first half, but Evan’s ability to knock down shots was giving them the offensive spark to stay in the game. He’s so good at quickly squaring up off the move in order to get off a good look from three, and does so in one smooth motion allowing him to get a shot off before the chasing defender catches up. He has a bit of an unorthodox kick when he shoots the ball, but knocks them down at a high percentage nonetheless. High level shooter in the 2024 class that has to be accounted for at all times.
