Johnson is a 2030 prospect we’re excited to watch make his introduction to the high school level, and we believe he has the tools to make some noise as a freshman at Air Academy. He’s a combo guard who plays with an advanced feel for the game and understands how to balance creating for teammates with finding his own scoring opportunities. What stands out is how comfortable he looks handling the ball, making decisions and keeping the offense organized without trying to do too much. He’s capable of getting others involved with some assists as he pushes it, reading what’s available and finding opportunities to attack when defenses give him space. That type of awareness should serve him well as he adjusts to the speed and physicality of varsity. This first season will be about sharpening his tools, gaining experience and becoming more assertive. We believe Johnson has a strong foundation, and we’re interested to see how quickly his game translates. Keep an eye out for him.

Johnson quietly put together one of the better weekends at Mile High Madness this Spring and we want to see how he builds on that performance. He scored from all three levels, made good reads, and never looked rushed with the ball. We now want to see him take that and show there’s more to his game. The Freshman Showcase gives him another opportunity to prove that performance wasn’t an outlier and continue creating buzz before the season begins.

Johnson displayed an efficient offensive game by taking advantage of favorable matchups and scoring from multiple levels. He confidently knocked down perimeter shots when defenders gave him space before attacking off the dribble to connect on mid range jumpers. Around the basket, he showed a soft touch with well controlled floaters that kept defenders guessing. Johnson’s ability to read the defense and adjust his scoring approach demonstrated strong basketball IQ. His versatility as a scorer made him a difficult matchup and a player capable of contributing in a variety of offensive situations.
