Erickson, out of Cushing Academy in Massachusetts, checks in at #12 among the power forwards and #46 overall. Erickson is one of the better two-way forwards in the region and plays with a high level of versatility on both ends of the floor. At 6’6″, he plays bigger than his height, using his athleticism and strength to make an impact defensively on the glass and as a post defender. Offensively, he can take smaller defenders into the post as a scorer, does a great job of finishing plays at the rim as a cutter, and also shows the ability to make decisions as a creator with the ball in his hands.

I was incredibly impressed with Erickson’s play during NEBL session 1. The 6-foot-6 forward showed a ridiculously versatile offensive skillset which included great three-point shooting off the move, the ability to handle the rock and attack closeouts, and some post moves against smaller guards. He also has really nice passing vision and can play within a system quite seamlessly. Defensively, Erickson can guard bigs because of his strength and size but can slide his feet super well with smaller and quicker guards. He could be a big time riser this year and should be getting scholarship looks up the wazoo.

Elliot is one of the more improved players on his team and in the NEBL. He is coming out of the gate shooting well from deep and being extra depth on this team that has studs. He can easily get 10p and 5r a game in this league, but has the chance for more given opportunity. Shooting above average in the free throw category. A good defender but has two full seasons left in high school. He is drawing D1 interest now but I am very excited to see where he lands because he will end up with close to 30 offers.

Erickson burst onto the scene this spring and continued to be productive at every stop along the way. The Cushing Academy wing plays with a high IQ on both ends of the floor, understands spacing and cutting, and can operate as a decision maker in transition and at the top of the key. He can play as a screener in ball screens, knows how to make reads out of dribble hand-offs, and does a great job of crashing the offensive glass. He’s a tough slasher that gets downhill off the bounce, plays through contact, and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. When the contact period opened, he heard from multiple D1s, including Brown, Merrimack, and NJIT.

Erickson, a high motor combo forward out of Cushing Academy, impressed with his two-way versatility. Maybe the best open floor athlete at the event, he has a nice combination of positional size, length, and athletic pop. He’s capable of playing in the paint or on the perimeter, does a nice job of attacking closeouts off the bounce, and is a quality offensive rebounder. He can operate as a screener that rolls hard to the rim or pops into space and is a terrific finisher around the rim in transition. Defensively, he can guard up and down a lineup and plays with toughness on the glass.

Erickson, an athletic and powerful wing out of Cushing Academy, has made the most of his opportunities this spring while playing for the Middlesex Magic. At 6’6″, he has the size needed to play in the paint and the agility needed to step out onto the perimeter. He’s an above the rim finisher that has a quick first step and the bounce needed to rise up in traffic and finish with authority. He has the versatility needed to impact games with his physical gifts, skill level, or motor. An offer from Boston University earlier this spring could be just the tip of the iceberg in his recruitment.

is an off-the-dribble scorer with lots of offensive juice. He will pull up from three with a high-release jumper and can relocate well for off-the-catch attempts. Erickson is confident when in dribbling scenarios, creating shots by taking mid-range side steps and step-backs with ease. His touch also translates on his finish attempts, taking floaters and smart shots on his drives for efficiency and productivity. Erickson shows potential as a weakside rim protector in recovery scenarios and will get on the block and fight for both offensive and defensive rebounds. Overall, his game revolves around efficient shooting and tough shot-making, and increased body improvements could make him a potential three-level scorer in time. Coaches and programs should get to know him right away.
