All eyes, understandably, are on the likely Indiana Mr. Basketball award winner, but Parra returns as Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School’s second-leading scorer from last season. The 6’0″ guard put up 9.2 points per game and shot 51-128 (39.8%) from three-point range. That shot-making ability was on display on Sunday as he got hot in a couple of stretches making some deep, tough three-point shots. Look for him to have a big senior season. Small college programs need to be involved here.

Playing alongside the likely front-runner for the 2026 Indiana Mr. Basketball award takes some of the shine away from just how talented Parra is in his own right. He took over for a stretch in the first half on Sunday for Indiana Elite Team Tradition knocking down a couple of tough three-point shots and showcasing some real athleticism when getting to the rim. He finished with 16 points in a hard fought victory. Parra is a high-percentage three-point shooter and talented all-around scorer.

We continue to be impressed with Parra’s shot-making ability this spring and summer. It comes as no real surprise after he made 51 three-point shots at a 40% clip for Mt. Vernon (Fortville) as a junior, but it is good to see him continue to make shots at a high-level. He gets it off in a hurry from beyond the arc and has deep range. Playing alongside the 2026 Indiana Mr. Basketball front-runner, look for Parra to have no short ridge of open shots as a senior. College programs need to see him play over the next couple of months.

Parra put together one of the most impressive individual performances of the entire spring on Sunday afternoon. Playing with Indiana Elite Team Tradition the 6’1″ guard scored 40 points in a blowout victory. He hit eight three-point shots on his way to the massive scoring output. The prospect out of Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School was the second leading scorer for the Mauraders and 40% on 51 makes from beyond the arc so the hot shooting is certainly not a big surprise. When it comes to pure shot-making ability, Parra is definitely one to keep a close eye on in the coming months.

Parra was one of the best bench players I watched on Saturday by far. When it came to pure shotmakers from deep, Parra was on another level. Really like his off-the-ball awareness and ability to play any role that Mt. Vernon needs him to. He will be an X-Factor in semi state.

Admittedly, Parra might have the least statewide publicity and recognition of the four star sophomores at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School. However, he is an excellent prospect in his own right as proven by his strong campaign this season averaging 8.7 points per game and stepping into a larger role in the absence of what would have been the Marauders leading scorer for much of the season.

The Marauders have a loaded sophomore class of talent and Parra is one that hasn’t necessarily received the statewide recognition compared to some of the others. However, he was excellent throughout their three games at the Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament showcasing his excellent three-point shooting ability and all-around athleticism. You’ll see his name shoot up the Class of 2026 prospect rankings at our next update here at Prep Hoops Indiana.
