Paulson finished with 10 hard earned points, doing his damage by getting downhill and attacking the rim. He didn’t shy away from contact but he welcomed it by powering through defenders to finish strong in traffic. Every drive put pressure on the defense and forced tough decisions. On the other end he matched that intensity, competing and locking in defensively. Paulson’s toughness on both sides of the ball made a clear impact throughout the game

shows up in a multitude of ways on the box score, showcasing his 2-way skills on a game-to-game basis. Currently ranked as the #27 PG in his class, don’t be surprised if Paulson jumps up the list this season. Averaging 12.9 PPG, 4 RPG, 3.1 APG, and 3.3 SPG, Paulson has incredible instincts that allow him to thrive on both ends of the ball. Surrounded by team-first players who distribute the rock, there’s no question that Paulson was put with the right group of guys. In a game where defense has never been more critical to the recipe of victory, it’s time to give Paulson his flowers for what so far has been a great season.

has been the team’s X-factor and a big reason why Golden has gotten off to an 8-2 start. Golden is currently riding a 5-game winning streak behind the play of their lead guard. He’s coming off of his best game of his career, a 25-point, 6-rebound, 4-steal performance in a close win over Pueblo West. That shows his upside, but he’s been very steady. He’s averaging 12.9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists a game. He’s been the team’s best defender at 3.3 steals a game and has been a catalyst on that end of the floor. He raises their floor and has been on a tear. He is making a rise in the rankings and looking for more. Solid start to the season for him. Let’s see if he can take them to a deep playoff push.
Paulson earned his spot in the rankings by showcasing a versatile game that impacts every facet of play. Offensively he scores from multiple areas using a quick first step to get downhill, finishing in traffic and elevating over defenders with ease. His court vision and ability to find open teammates make him a constant threat, ensuring the offense flows smoothly whenever he has the ball. Beyond scoring Paulson contributes on the boards, using his instincts and timing to secure possessions for his team. That blend of scoring, playmaking and rebounding makes him a true all around player and a standout among his peers, solidifying his place among the ranked players in his class
Paulson was one of the most complete stat-sheet guys in his class. He put up 7.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game as a sophomore all while defending and competing hard. He gets to his spots as a downhill threat and makes plays on both ends. After being unranked last time, he’s earned his spot with production and grit. Golden’s success will run through players all playing hard each time out and he does just that.
