was one of the only bright spots on a rough day for the Trojans. He showed the ability to drive and finish in traffic multiple times and also had a put back. He rebounded well throughout the game, showing that he knows how to fight for positioning and utilize some athleticism to get the rebounds. Not the best day for his team, but he was one of the lone bright spots.

While there’s plenty of excitement around some of Jenks’ younger players, arguably their best player this season has been senior

. The bigger guard has been outstanding this season and he was at it again on Thursday night. He led the Trojans in scoring with 16 points and had a very balanced and efficient night from the floor. The only thing that didn’t go well for Golightly was his attempt at the basket near the end of the game as he tried to tie it up. Other than that, it was a nearly perfect game from the senior. It wasn’t a hard prediction to think that Golightly would be one of this season’s breakout stars.

proved to be clutch in overtime as he helped lead the Trojans to a big win over Owasso Tuesday night. Golightly would finish with 19 points, including what would be the go-ahead shot with less than a minute to play in the extra period. Golightly is definitely a contender for being an absolute breakout star this season. With the Trojans losing a few key pieces to graduation, it’s expected that Golightly will move into the role of the leading scorer for the Trojans. Like McAlester, Jenks is headed to Tahlequah later this week to participate in that tournament, featuring a few players and teams on this list.

Golightly was a starter last year for the Trojans and even averaged double figures but this season Jenks will place even more responsibility on the broad shoulders of this senior. And the 6 foot 4, athletic and long arm perimeter player has the upside to shine with that responsibility. Playing off the ball he shot it well from the perimeter but now will have a chance to display his sneaky good handles as a driver.
In a recent camp viewing, Golightly shined in “Iso Situations”. He created space to hit jumpers off dribble. While his combination of size and skill make him a handful off the bounce, as he was able to power by smaller defenders or use skill to glide by bigger foes. The structure of highsSchool and even collegiate games don’t often have the spacing for Iso play that Golightly excelled at camps or on the grassroots circuit. So while scoring will get the talented guard noticed, using the full breath of his natural gifts (athleticism and wingspan) to impact all facets of the game will elevate his standing to collegiate coaches.
