Expert Analysis

Goodwin has developed his all around game into an impressive complete scorer. He knows how to set up defenders who overplay by hitting backdoor cuts. Dictates the pace well on drives, as he knows he’s not the fastest off the bounce but he is skilled. And he continues to make it rain from deep shortly after crossing halfcourt. A late in the season win over Broken Arrow showcased the type of ceiling Jenks has as a team. With Goodwin hitting big shots, they could very well shake up the Class 6A East playoff bracket. And make a push for the State Tournament.

While Goodwin didn’t catch fire like he did in Monday’s performance. The SWOSU signee still had a strong tournament. Which of course included the top individual scoring game by any player this week. He heads back to the 918 stamped not only as one of the elite shooters in 2026, but a flat out bucket getter.

Will be hard pressed to find a better individual performance all tournament. Exploded for 36, with 30 of it coming in the first three frames. Hit his customary parking lot range three pointers. While also dictating the pace on his drives, taking advantage of over aggressive defenders to snake his way to the rim. Goodwin has been one of the best shooters in the Class of 2026 since his freshman year, but has made it his mission to evolve into a complete scorer. And the way he took it to an athletic and aggressive Del City defender was a loud statement for the Southwestern Oklahoma State signee.

Goodwin has one of the purest shooting forms of the last few years. College ready range, and a deadeye sniper. His sheer gravity can change games even when he’s not hitting. Would be a strong bet to win a NBA All Star break style 3 point shooting contest in Oklahoma. Has worked his tail off to maximize his all around game. A smart defender, who ends up causing a sneaky high amount of turnovers by reading the game and being in the passing lanes. In state SWOSU has targeted him heavily.

By the lofty standards of Goodwin, this wasn’t his best shooting performance. But he still stood out for the work he was doing on and off the ball. Brought the ball up more and looked empowered to be more confident as a lead ball handler. Then as any good shooter should, he works his tail off moving off the ball. Even would pop up with key rebounds on both ends of the court. It’s fantastic to see the work the 918 sharpshooter has done to fill in his game around his shooting superpower. Was recently offered by Southwestern in Weatherford.

Goodwin enters his senior year with his names all over the Jenks record books. From the jump, he’s been a microwave type shooter from three. When it comes to a pure jumper, he has a strong argument to be the best in the state. Especially as he’s seemingly in range from the second he gets off the bus. Goodwin is the type of walking weapon that always finds a home at the next level, because he can swing games with makes in a flurry. While also crucially spacing the floor. He’s steadily added to his all around game, but perimeter shooting is his superpower. And it’s very powerful.

Even from around the volleyball line, Goodwin is in range. He proved that by casually sinking a 30 footer to open the contest. After that, Carl Albert did a better job of staying attached to him, but he still got loose for a few more threes. Finishing with 20 total, which included tough scores off drives that helped ice the game in the final frame. Flat out one of the very best shooters in Oklahoma, regardless of class.

Always in the conversation for best shooter in Oklahoma, Goodwin continued to operate as the primary offensive threat for the Trojans. He made it rain from deep with one of the purest looking jumpers in the Class of 2026. His shots almost always look they’re going in, and if they don’t he often gets the soft shooter’s touch. He continues to find ways to get it going in the mid-range and near the rim, with a sneaky good runner that has the same touch as his proficient three point shooting.
Long term an area to keep an eye is his foot speed, especially on the defensive end. As Goodwin looks to the continue the climb ladder of high level basketball, his ability to be as fluid mover as possible will be crucial on both ends of the court.

They say numbers don’t lie and Goodwin has continued to put up strong production this spring. He’s one of the top shooters in Oklahoma, and does a good job of playing at his own pace on drives. His silky smooth, shooting touch is evident on floaters, mid-range and finishing at the rim. He’ll have a busy weekend in Wichita with Team Oklahoma.

Goodwin has one of the best shooting touches in the class, with a silky three pointer and good touch inside the arc as well. As a sophomore, he’s already putting his name all over the Jenks record book with big time scoring performances, often from beyond the arc. Having an elite trait, especially shooting, will always give a player opportunities at the next level. Long term, he’ll need to continue to maximize his lateral quickness and physical traits to be better suited for the demands of the next level.
