7/18/26: Decari secured an offensive rebound with 6 seconds left in overtime, down 1. He then missed both free throws. He started against BMaze 15u, a big, strong team Saturday morning. It was a challenge. He made one of his first two jumpers, which is tough in pressure-filled games. Jumpers require touch and Decari stepped into them comfortably. The young man is getting bigger in the shoulders. Wonderful lateral mobility. A key to elite guard play is making good decisions. Decari can pass. He can shoot. I think figuring which is the best play in the moment is another step he can take. Then, he will want to learn who needs the touch. Who is the hot hand. Those kinds of decisions separate guards. Speedy. Decari is a true terror when he gets a runway. Big strides. Good speed. Not at the same level, but he has a little De’Aaron Fox to him in that way.

Parks did a really good job setting the table for this Stars 15u UAA group in this morning’s game. Playing up in the 16u division, it’s a great test for Parks and his teammates to see where they’re at compared to some older guys as we quickly approach the May live period/next UAA session in Cincinnatti. Parks blends his scoring and playmaking at a high level while never forgetting about his responsibility as an on-ball disruptor on the defensive end. He is consistently attacking the paint and looking to make plays for his teammates, you can tell he’s just very comfortable on the floor with the ball in his hands. Parks will be a guard to watch closely in Tennessee’s 2029 class.

2/11/26: Absolutely incredible first half. Decari Parks Decari Parks 6'1" | PG Columbia Academy | 2029 State TN was the most dynamic player on the floor and simply did a bit of everything. In the fourth quarter Parks missed a lot of shots he made earlier, maybe tired legs. Maybe better defense. He proved to be exceptional with the dribble and found mature passing lanes. Parks did not turn the ball over despite playing with pace. This guy is the real deal. Reminds of a young Bryson Wade Bryson Wade 6'0" | PG Brentwood Academy | 2027 State TN . Parks fed the post at a very high level. Unlike most young guards who demonstrate a high level of selfishness Parks fed the big over and over. When I first evaluated him, I worried if he was a shooting guard in the body of a point guard, but that is not the case. He is an elite scorer with the ability and mental awareness to both distribute and score.
