Changes have been made inside the top half of the 2029 Tennessee player rankings. Things are going to get more interesting once the 2026 season gets here.

But, for now, here are 4 observations from the latest update:

Duor is the new No. 1

McCallie's [player_tooltip player_id='2959343' first='Junub' last='Duor'] is the new No. 1 player in the class. The 6-foot-6 Duor is a versatile forward that has a chance to be the total package. He has already shown his ability to make shots from the perimeter. Duor isn't afraid to put the basketball on the floor in transition and go make a play. He knows how to finish at the rim. Duor knows how to use his length to block and alter shots at the rim and rebound at a high clip. It's early, but Duor has the tools to put a chokehold on the class.

Strong debut from Dickens

Chattanooga Prep's [player_tooltip player_id='2856292' first='Kharlo' last='Dickens'] debuts at No. 2. The 6-6 wing has a nice frame and knows how to use it each time he posts up a smaller defender. Dickens can face up and knock down shots from the perimeter. He finishes well around the rim. Dickens will sit down and play defense. He will put himself in position for rebounds. Dickens is definitely one of the best players in the class. Dickens playing well moving forward could place himself in the conversation for being the best player in the class.

Hill moves up 2 spots

Bartlett's [player_tooltip player_id='2979284' first='Malachi' last='Hill'] moved up 2 spots to No. 3. Hill contributed to the Panthers' TSSAA Division I Class 4A state title run last season as a reserve. He led Mokan Elite 15U to the Peach Jam title as the team's starting point guard. Hill is a smart basketball player. He sees the floor well. Hill can make shots from the perimeter. He's not going to turn the basketball over at an alarming rate. Hill's recruitment is already in good shape with offers from Murray State and Ole Miss. Hill's role with Bartlett will be bigger this upcoming season. More eyes will be on him.

Taylor debuts inside the top 10

Tipton Rosemark-Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='3658644' first='Roman' last='Taylor'] checks in at No. 6 overall and the No. 2-ranked point guard. Taylor is shifty and crafty with the basketball. He's a 3-level scorer. Taylor can create his own shot. He's a guard that's looking to terrorize his defender and embarrass him on every possession. Taylor doesn't allow his defender to gain confidence of thinking that he's capable of slowing him down. He wants to set the tone early with back-to-back scores. Taylor is the real deal.

The rest

[player_tooltip player_id='3532891' first='Desean' last='Clayton'] debuts at No. 4. [player_tooltip player_id='2955842' first='Francis' last='Nwoye'] moved up a spot to No. 5. [player_tooltip player_id='2767787' first='Kaleb' last='Taylor'], [player_tooltip player_id='3255771' first='Ben' last='Freije'], [player_tooltip player_id='3476186' first='Earl' last='Bennett Jr.'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2822320' first='Decari' last='Parks'] round out the top 10.

Changes have been made inside the top half of the 2029 Tennessee player rankings. Things are going to get more interesting once the 2026 season gets here.
