Stands about 6'4" Going to be one of the strongest physically in his class this next winter. His game is raw right now. Facing a smaller team late Saturday morning Singleton did not take any jumpshots, so that evaluation is incomplete. Slashing is a strength, but he could have been even more assertive in the game. The size advantage, specifically among STARS 15u Premier was substantial and yet they hardly leaned upon it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jude Yaras</strong> (Page) - Can fall for ball fakes. Needs better defensive discipline</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3573661' first='Major' last='Anding']</strong> (Brentwood) - Needs to improve lateral mobility. Looks like he wants to be a guard. But he can't slide fast enoguh yet. Broad shoulders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3636384' first='Caleb' last='Thrash'] </strong>(Battle Ground Academy) - Speedy. PG. Lefty. He sees the floor well. Not perfectly yet. But very well. Good court awareness. Offensively he is ahead of defense. Unafraid of contact. Left-handed. Golfs at a high level. Grew up playing some soccer and football too. Projects as a combo guard. He still has a long way to go, but that is to be expected for every big man at his age. The young man needs strength in a big way, but that too takes a lot longer for bigs to gain. He hit a faceup 8' from the baseline very early against BMaze. He was sketchy when he put a dribble down because BMaze 15u doubled him right away. When he plays with patience and urgency, he is special. That is a big ask for young players. Great endurance and fitness. He then missed both free throws. He started against BMaze 15u, a big, strong team Saturday morning. It was a challenge. He made one of his first two jumpers, which is tough in pressure-filled games. Jumpers require touch and Decari stepped into them comfortably. The young man is getting bigger in the shoulders. Wonderful lateral mobility. A key to elite guard play is making good decisions. Decari can pass. He can shoot. I think figuring which is the best play in the moment is another step he can take. Then, he will want to learn who needs the touch. Who is the hot hand. Those kinds of decisions separate guards. Speedy. Decari is a true terror when he gets a runway. Big strides. Good speed. He looks like a young linebacker. Powerful legs. Left-handed. Very soft shooting touch. He did not play very fast against BMaze and appeared a little rattled with the speed of play. Lewis' free throw form was excellent. Exceptional second half. His elegance was immediately apparent. Nwoye will benefit from better natural athleticism than most peers. He will always need to elevate his skill to match gym rats so that he can be a premiere perimeter attacker. The shooting touch is quite good for a young player. He will probably be a forward throughout his career. Haston might become a wing guard by the time he hits his 20's. The speed of young guards is way too fast for him now, but he is going to be special thanks to his nimble feet and smoothness.
