I’d like to see Volmer show off some more offensive firepower. He’s got elite intangibles and an insane motor. That will be noticeable.

Volmer’s ranking may surprise, but I don’t think people realize what we have here with

. I’m doing some forward-thinking here with his #7 ranking, because his upside is through the roof. He won’t reach Wassenaar’s level, but he has potential to be the #2 overall prospect in this class if things align perfectly.
Volmer is warrior on the court and he’s changing physically, growing taller and packing on lean muscle mass. As it stands, Volmer is already one of the top defenders in the state. He’s an animal on D with the combination of his frame and athleticism, complimented by his locked-in approach, laser focus, motor, and effort. He doesn’t rest or take plays off. He brings it, and he keeps bringing it. He’s a special defender and It starts with his length and fluidity. He can matchup with quick, change-of-pace point guards with ease. On the defensive side he also competes at the rim and will challenge and erase shots at the rim with timing and elite verticality. On the offensive side, Volmer is a non-flashy player that doesn’t overdribble and likes to keep ball movement. He takes care of the ball with secure passes that are on target. He’s selective in his shot selection but he can score from all over.
Volmer is the most valuable player on a Lyman team that advanced to the State B’s after beating Gregory. If I’m a Division II school, I’m monitoring Volmer and his progress. For what it’s worth, his sister had the same type of trajectory, and she is now a DI player at University of North Dakota. Volmer will be with Sanford Sports Academy SF this upcoming offseason and I think college coaches will take a liking to him and what he brings to the table.

Volmer could have legitimate Top 10 upside in this class. He looks completely different physically from a year ago, when he looked a little too lanky. He looks like a legitimate athlete at 6’4” with a bunch of athletic upside. He put in 24 points versus Potter County. Volmer is committed to Sanford Sports Academy SF for the offseason.

Volmer is a youngster to monitor because he could be a kid that reaches a great positional height with lengthy arms as a guard/wing. He started for Lyman as a Freshman, and if he can improve his handling and shooting, he could surprise and be a late-blooming prospect. His movement and cutting without the ball and non-stop motor are a couple of his main strengths on the court.
