Above the rim finisher, who has been critical in Douglass staying among the state’s best teams. Gets off the floor quickly, with big time athleticism, bringing verticality to offense as a lob threat in the halfcourt. Also bouncy as a defensive rebounder and protecting the rim. Ransome’s build and mobility wise projects him as a small forward long term. Especially as he has good mechanics on his jumper and has made progress this season in the mid-range and even occasional three. Will be a hot name this spring for a JuCo or the right four year program that has a developmental plan for him.

Ransome is one of the sky walkers in Oklahoma’s Class of 2026. He’s also continuing to put in the work to go from a forward prospect to having more potential as a wing. His athletic profile and height have always been that of a small forward. But based on the way he shot it with more confidence from deep and even with one-two dribble moves to the midrange, his game is starting to evolve into that of a “3 and D” wing. He’ll continue to provide the pivotal role as a game changing player around the rim for Douglass this winter. But the right JuCo or Prep School could see him find a path to a D1 home.

Douglass’s high level guard plays often receive most of the accolades. But not to be lost in the mix of the back to back Class 4A champions is one of the bounciest players in Oklahoma’s Class of 2025. He’s a rim running lob threat, with the ability to sky for rebounds, block shots, and of course finish with authority. In a win over Owasso, he held his own against a 6’10 opponent. Which speaks to the importance he has in Douglass’ quest for a three-peet and the long term upside he presents to a college that’s willing to work with and develop Ransome.

Deshawn Ransome was a constant lob, flashing, cutting, and duck-in threat from the dunker’s spot. His exceptional leaping ability allowed him to soar above defenders to catch alley-oops thrown by his guards, showcasing elite athleticism and bounce. Ransome’s ability to jump out of the gym off two feet, even leaning sideways with the ball behind his head, displayed his incredible vertical leap and aerial skills. Ransome also covered a lot of ground in the paint, utilizing pro hops and jump stops to flourish around the basket. His ability to land and play on two feet allowed him to maintain balance and control while finishing plays in traffic.

Ransome lived at the rim throughout a Saturday morning victory for the Oklahoma Icons. He’s bouncy, with a good second jump that particularly stands out with the way he gets on the offensive glass. But he’s also capable of slamming it home with authority when given a clear lane, and had a nice switch hand finish on a drive as well. Energy and athleticism at his size will always open doors for the Douglass Trojan at the next level. In the game watched, he went 0-2 on catch and shoot threes. But his shooting form and rhythm looked fine. Becoming a consistent floor spacing, catch and shoot threat would help raise the ceiling of Ransom as an interesting hybrid forward type prospect.

High motor and understanding his role, Ransome has shined this sophomore season for one of the best teams in the state. With seemingly ever game, he’s becoming more athletic and confident. Right now his game is that of an undersized frontcourt player, who lives off his energy plays. But there’s enough flashes of a face up game and his overall movement profile that there’s potential for him to grow into more of a wing prospect. As long as he maintains his blue collar rebounding mentality while working on upgrading his wing skills, he’ll remain one of the most impactful to winning players in this class.
